Wilmer "Wink" Townsend

Wilmer "Wink" Pearl Townsend, 70, of Grottoes, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

He was born on June 14, 1955, and was a son of Nettie (Townsend) Losh, of Franklin, WV.

Wink retired from Packaging Corp in 2019 after 41 years of service. He loved family gatherings, BBQ'ing, grilling, baking, and entertaining everyone.

Wink was united in marriage on June 13, 1999, to Judy (Thompson) Townsend, who survives.

Wink is also survived by six children, Chris (Vickie) Earman, Chasity (Thomas) Marcus, Amanda (Joshua) Dove, Jill Arey, Brandon (Zanny) Arey, and Marisa (Quinton) Williams; brothers, Bo (Veronica) Losh, and Billy Losh; twelve grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Tyler, Emma, Sam, Colton, Sadie, Auston, Pierce, Paisley, Bode, and Oaklynn; a great-granddaughter, Delanie; good friend, Wayne (Betty Jo) Fleisher; special pet, Bocephus; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 PM on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.

A service celebrating Wink's life will be held on Sunday, December 28th at 2 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor William Staton officiating. Burial will be private.
