William Randolph Sawyers

January 30, 1953 - April 22, 2025

William Randolph Sawyers, Sr., 72, widower of Starlene Lynn (Edwards) Sawyers, of Fishersville, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his residence. 
Mr. Sawyers was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on January 30, 1953, a son of the late John Henry Sawyers and Edna (Ratcliffe) Martin. 
William retired from Eavers Contractors as a machine operator and was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ. He enjoyed deer and ground-hog hunting, and fishing. 
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Sawyers was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Sawyers, Matthew Martin and Rufus Martin; and three sisters, Scarlett Sawyers, Wanda Martin, and Lelia Cash. 
Surviving, are two sons, William R. “Billy” Sawyers and his wife, Kathy Sue of Crimora and Victor A. Sawyers and his wife, Angela of Verona; a daughter, Edna L. McManaway and her husband, Will of Greenville; a brother, Troy Sawyers and his wife, Cindy of Greenville, TN; two sisters, Linda Anderson of Woodstock and Charlotte Martin of Leesburg; six grandchildren, Anthony Sawyers and his wife, Lacie, Skyler Webb, Corey McManaway, Thunder Griffin and his wife, Karly, Jonah Sawyers and his wife, Tyler, and Tori Henry; twelve great-grandchildren, Owen, Huxley, Oliver, Jupiter, Saturn, Aubree, Mason, Tatum, Mason, Bellamy, Eli, and Lillith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025 in Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Pastor John Doughty.
Active pallbearers will be his son, William “Billy” Sawyers, son-in-law, Will McManaway, and grandsons, Corey McManaway, Jonah Sawyers, Anthony Sawyers, and Thunder Griffin. 
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank you” to Dr. Marsh for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Sawyers.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
