William A. Huggard

William A. Huggard, passed away on September 12, 2023, in Staunton, Virginia.
He was born on October 3, 1946, in Augusta County, Virginia, to the late Lucy E. Huggard.
William graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army.After completing his military service, William joined Unifi, where he worked for over twenty-seven years before retiring. Throughout his career, he displayed unwavering dedication and commitment to his work.Outside of work, William had a number of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He was an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and loved cheering for his favorite team during their games. Music also held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed listening to various genres in his spare time. Furthermore, William was an active and devoted member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), dedicating his time to support fellow veterans.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sherrie L. Washington Huggard, who stood by his side offering love and support throughout their journey together. In addition to Sherrie, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald R. and Robert T. Carr and his sister Sara M. Tisdale.
William will be remembered for the impact he made on the lives of those around him. His kindness, dedication, and genuine love for others will live on in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.A memorial service will be held to celebrate William's life on September 23, 2023 at Henry Funeral Home located at 1030 West Beverley Street in Staunton, Virginia, with the Pastor Dorothy Gates officiating. The service will begin at 11:00 AM. Following the memorial service, the inurnment will be held at Oaklawn Mausoleum & Memory Gardens, located at 1921 Shutterlee Mill Rd in Staunton, Virginia.
