Wayne E. Shank

Wayne E. Shank, 82, of Mount Solon, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

He was born on August 5, 1941 and was a son of John and Hazel (Knott) Shank.

Wayne had worked and retired from Ethan Allen.

Wayne was united in marriage on July 24, 1966, to Bertha Shank, who survives.

Wayne is survived by three children, Jeffrey (Marilynn) Shank, of Mount Solon, John (Tammy Halterman) Shank, of Mount Solon, Everett Shank, of Mount Solon; daughter-in-law, Dana Shank of Mount Solon; six grandchildren, Ciara (Cody) Bayne, Ryan Back and fiance Starla Mohan, Joshua Shank and fiance Megan Mathis, Raven Smith, Travis McCray; one great-grandchild, Caroline Bayne; step-grandson, Dalton Halterman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Dennis Shank; daughter, Gloria McCray; grandson, Brandon McCray.

The family will receive friends between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8,2023 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation in Bridgewater. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, with Chaplain David Kite officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service to help offset funeral expenses.
