Wayne Darr

Wayne Allen Darr Sr., 70, of Strasburg, VA went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at his home in Strasburg surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born in Winchester, VA on April 5, 1956, and was raised in Middletown, VA the son of the late Harmon Clifton & Pansy Rebecca Hammon Darr, Sr. He was a 1975 graduate of James Wood High School, and a founding member of a gospel group “The Faith Renew.” Wayne lived his life for the Lord, praising Him in all things throughout his earthly journey. He was a member of Meadow Mills Church of the Brethren in Middletown, VA. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and relic hunting. Wayne spent countless hours singing and playing his guitar. He was employed at Carmeuse Lime & Stone of Middletown, VA and was a lifetime member of the Middletown Hunt Club. His greatest joy was his family, and he loved being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Phyliss Hodson Darr; his children Robie (Craig), Crystal (Frank), Wayne Jr., Mary Jane (Roy), Aaron (Lindsie); his grandchildren Dustin Herbrandt (Courtney), Cody Darr (Amber), Alyssa Johnson, Cloe Darr, Seth Darr, Alyvia Darr, Ian Martin, Drew Martin, Miles Martin, Kobe Darr, Micah Darr; his great-grandchildren Liam, Lukas, Logan Herbrant and Delainey Darr; his brother Harmon Jr. "Slim", and a sister Brenda (Jimmy) along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life and homegoing service for Mr. Darr will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Meadow Mills Church of the Brethren, Middletown, VA with Pastor Bill McHenry officiating. Mr. Darr will be laid to rest privately. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service.
