Walter Dolby

Walter Carlos Dolby, Jr., 71, of Middletown, VA passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center. 

A funeral service for Mr. Dolby will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Stover Funeral Home with Carlos Lee Dolby, Jr. “CJ” and Charles Wesley Mullins, III “Spud” presiding.  Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, VA. 

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Dolby was born in Leesburg, VA on November 5, 1952, a son of the late Walter Carlos and Mattie Elizabeth Delp Dolby, Sr.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Mildred Ann Mullins, Mattie Mae Jackson, and Helen Kifer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Karen Lee Osborne Dolby; two sons Carlos Lee Dolby (Regina) of Moorefield, WV, John L. Dolby (Debra Lyn) of Catlett, VA; one daughter Joni Lane Dolby Smith (Terry William Smith) of Berkeley Springs, WV; nine grandchildren Carlos L. Dolby, Jr., Augustus J. Dolby, Simon C. Dolby, Persphanie K. Dolby, Steven G. Dolby, Evan J. Dolby, Travis L. Smith, Josephine A. Smith, and Jacob R. Smith; two sisters Janet Osborne (Jimmy) of Dallas, NC and Rita Mullins (Billy) of Pound, VA; one brother Charles Mullins (Brenda) of Ammisville, VA.

Pallbearers will be Danny Hardy, Jimmy Morgan, Gale Ross, Netfi Bonilla, Andrian Gaucin, and Robbie Malcolm.
