Wallace Lee Hoy

Wallace Lee Hoy, a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Winnabow, North Carolina, at the age of 84. Born on September 4, 1940, in Waynesboro, Virginia, Wallace lived a life marked by hard work, dedication to family, and a passion for handiwork.
Wallace spent his career as a dedicated truck driver, providing reliable service for Houff Transfer Inc. from where he retired. His love for restoring trucks, particularly Fords, was well-known among his family and friends. A man of all work, Wallace was truly a jack of all trades, always ready to lend a hand or share his knowledge with others.
In addition to his professional life, Wallace had a deep appreciation for horticulture, finding joy in tending to his garden and flowers. His yard was a testament to his love for landscaping and his meticulous care.
Above all, he cherished spending time with his family. Whether playing cards or simply enjoying each other's company, his family was the center of his world.
Wallace was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Carol Hoy; his parents, Raymond Hoy and Laura Key; and his siblings, Helen Truslow, Paul Hoy, and Joyce Campbell. He is survived by his son, Dennis Hoy; his daughters, Monique McEniry (Rick), Shirley Morgan (Ronald), and Beverly Gutshall (Gary); as well as his grandchildren, Cassie Price (Travis), Nick Lyle (Chessie), Cody McEniry (Kara), Justin DeVost, Jason DeVost, and Caleb McEniry. Wallace also leaves behind four great-grandchildren Avery, Asher, Aniston and Phoenix, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to celebrate Wallace's life will be held on September 5, 2025, at 2 p.m. at ClearView Church, located at 9 Old Cottonwood Road, Fisherville, Virginia. Following the ceremony, the family will receive friends.
The family extends special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Bolivia for their compassionate care and support during Wallace's final days.
