Virginia "Ginger" Drumheller

February 13, 1947 - January 22, 2024

Virginia “Ginger” Drumheller, 76, of Nellysford, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Augusta Health Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville. She was born in Augusta County on February 13, 1947, a daughter of the late Edgar Straton, Sr. and Arbutus (Sutton) Clark.

Ginger graduated from Wilson Memorial High School. She worked for many years as a lead bank teller with Wachovia/Wells Fargo. In her younger years, she attended Fishersville United Methodist Church. Ginger loved traveling and going on cruises. She enjoyed cheering on her UVA Cavaliers. Ginger was most known for hosting her community pool parties and teaching children how to dive. She was a stable customer and could often be found at her favorite restaurant, Margaritas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Michelle Renee Monroe; brother, Edgar Straton “Eddie” Clark, Jr. and her half-brother, Darrell Lee Sutton.

Survivors include her husband, David William Drumheller; daughter, Cristie Monroe Wood (Zane); her beloved and special, granddaughter, Leah Paige Wood; brother, Delbert Nolan “Butch” Clark; sisters-in-law, Betty “Jean” Clark and Charlene Sutton;brother-in-law, Paul Drumheller (Carolyn); nephews-in-law, Patrick and Matthew Drumheller; friends, Danita Harris and Gibran “G” Carnevali; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She will also be greatly missed by her friends in the Nellysford Community.

A private burial will be conducted at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2pm until 4pm at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville.
