Vic E. Peyton

February 11, 1938 - March 27, 2022

Vic Peyton, 84, was a powerful presence who was called to rest on March 27, 2022. He was known for his integrity, strong work ethic and quick wit. The love for his family was unwavering, always encouraging them in their education and careers. Vic was an active grandfather (“Dan-Dan”) to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was born February 11, 1938 to Joseph Earl and Reba Shull Peyton of Churchville and was a graduate of Churchville High School. He retired from VDOT after 30 years of service and was a life-long supporter of the Staunton S.D.A. Church where he served as a deacon.

Vic was a fierce competitor in all aspects of his life, whether it be baseball, golf, or riding his Harley in the grand outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Siron Peyton of Jennings Gap, two children, Lisa Peyton Tutwiler (Greg) of Bridgewater and Dr. Victor Colt Peyton of Albermarle County; three grandchildren, Tyler Clarence Hevener (Ashlea), Victoria Peyton Tomlin (Joshua) and Willow Victoria Peyton; and three great-grandchildren, Peyton Elizabeth Hevener, Atley Victoria Tomlin and Avery Loven Tomlin.

By his request there will be no formal services; however, the family will receive visitors from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 in Bear Funeral Home.
