Toni S. McWhorter

DEERFIELD – Toni Camille Sileo McWhorter, 78, passed away Saturday in Brookdale Senior Living, Staunton.

Born September 8, 1945 in The Bronx, New York, Toni was the only child of the late Alfred George Sileo and Alva Pauline (Armstrong) Swank. Her last employment was as a receptionist for Charlie Obaugh in Staunton. She loved her community and enjoyed volunteering for the Deerfield Valley Volunteer Fire Department ladies auxiliary and for other community events and activities. She was a member of Deerfield Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Harold Milton McWhorter whom she married on May 20, 1967; two sons, Joseph Milton McWhorter and wife Catherine of Staunton and Christopher Scott McWhorter and wife Tori of Crimora; five grandchildren, Jessica and Dane Wade, and Alaina, Jared and Jacob McWhorter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21 in Bear Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Curtis Crawford. Burial will follow in Deerfield Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be B.J. Williams, Dean Ashby, Chris Morrison, Jeff Blalock, Dane Wade, and Jared and Jacob McWhorter.
