Tommy Gale Johnson

Tommy Gale Johson, age 58, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born on February 22, 1965, in Harrisonburg, VA , the son of Alice Rettie (Hedrick) Johnson of Franklin, WV and the late Roscoe Johnson (2-2-05). 
 

Tommy was a 1984 graduate of Franklin High School and had worked as a truck driver and a technician for Dixie Gas for more than 20 years. He had a passion for the outdoors and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and 4 wheeler riding. Tommy was very talented and applied his talent to playing music and repairing things. More than anything, Tommy loved spending time with his family, and he cherished the time spent with his daughters, grandchildren, his nieces and nephew. 
 

In addition to his mother, Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Ashley Michelle Johnson of Franklin, WV, Rachel Nicole Johnson of Maysville, WV; 2 grandchildren, Cole and Leah Puffenbarger; a sister, Linda Owen of Elkton, VA; 2 nieces, Andrea Reel (Brandon), Staci Owen (Chad), and Loren Owen (Heather). In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard W. “Bus” Hedrick (6-9-68).
 

Tommy's family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2023, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV (The family asks that you wear casual clothing, particularly camo or something relating to hunting to honor Tommy's memory). A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin, WV.
