Timothy Wayne Malcolm
STAUNTON – Timothy Wayne Malcolm, 61, died Wednesday (August 23, 2023) in his home after a ten-year battle with cancer.
Tim was born in Staunton on March 28, 1962 and was the oldest son of the late Harry Hamilton Malcolm and Nancy June (Curry) Malcolm. He was a 1980 graduate of Buffalo Gap High School and a 1984 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. He spent most of his career serving the public at Staunton Building Supply, and more recently at Central Virginia Rental. A skilled stone mason, he crafted numerous fine structures, including his own home and a family camp. Tim was a faithful member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and a volunteer with Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
Surviving are his wife, Lori Michele (Simmons) Malcolm, whom he married August 26, 1989; a daughter, Kamela Malcolm Hardison and husband Michael of Stuarts Draft; two brothers, Steven Lyle Malcolm and wife Kara of Churchville, and Kenneth Dean Malcolm and wife Jennifer of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Natalie and Rilynn Hardison; three nephews, Dexter, Britton and Lane Malcolm; and one niece, Christa Riches.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, August 27 in Hebron Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Henry D. Scoggins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cam Powell, David Hanger, Gibby Crummett, Charles Buchanan, Mark Buchanan, Emerson Willard and Glenn Mader.
