Thomas F. Heatherly

CHURCHVILLE – Thomas Franklin “Tommy” Heatherly, 68, of Hankey Mountain Hwy., Churchville, died Monday, September 12, 2022.

Born October 22, 1954 in Tryon, N.C., he was the son of Hugh Thomas and Mildred Dorothy Marylou (Gosnell) Poole Heatherly.

Prior to retirement, he was employed as a crane operator for Fairfield-Echols.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four grandchildren, Brandon, Britt Jr., Benton and Tayla.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Louise (Medlin) Heatherly; four children, Amy Stockton, Shelby Heatherly, Daisy “Allie” Shuck and Sam Heatherly; two sisters, Glenda Newsome and Roseanne Allen; an uncle, Carl Lee McGraw; nine grandchildren, Desaree Kelley, Eric Altizer, Brandon Altizer, Rhianna Warbel, Jonathan Troyer, David Troyer, Sierra Warbel, Walker Heatherly and Eligh Heatherly; five great-grandchildren, Lucas Browning, Jasper Warbel, Olivia Warbel, Aoibhlinn Kelley and Sovereign Kelley; nieces Roberta Smith and Tiffany Washington; nephews Daniel Latimore and Alex Jenkins; and his “four-legged kids,” Peanut, Bug, Curly, Hazel, Chuck and Ellie.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
