Terry Edward Runion
Terry Edward Runion, age 83, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023. He was born on May 12, 1940, in Ameagle, WV, the son of the late Ola and Virginia (Stover) Runion.
His younger brother asked him once to give him advice on how to ask a girl out on a date. Terry told his brother to watch and he’d show him how it was done. He did just that to the girl that the brother wanted to ask out, Janet Lee (Lasley) Runion, they married on September 1, 1961, who preceded him in death on February 25, 2022.
Terry retired in 1996 as a Coal Truck Driver from Carbon Fuel in Charleston, WV. He was a member of the UMWA #6529, District 17. In the 70’s, He was instrumental in starting the girls softball team for the Clear Fork area and coached his own team for several years. Terry was an avid hunter and fisherman but his greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.
Terry leaves behind to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Terri Farley (Vaughn) of Charleston, WV, Kim Pitsenbarger (Jeff) of Brandywine, WV; 6 grandchildren, Leigh “Punkin” Evick, Gayle “Peanuts” Combs, Jeremy “Pistol” Pitsenbarger, Matthew “Pits” Pitsenbarger, Meghan “Peaches” Evick, and Robert Novack; an honorary son Heath Runion. 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: 3 brothers; Ola Runion Jr, Gerald “Sonny” Runion and Leon Runion and 2 sisters; Joyce Dickerson and Kathy Prewitt.
Pallbearers will be: Grandsons; Jeremy and Matthew Pitsenbarger, Easton Combs, Kaden Richmond and Robert Novak, grandson in laws, Wesley Combs and Jesse, and nephews Joey and Dewayne Wall.
