Shirley Gale Smith

Shirley Gale Smith, 70, of Townhouse Lane, Waynesboro passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born in Staunton on March 31, 1956, daughter of the late John Everett and Clara Gretchen (Harlow) Smith. Shirley was a member of Church on the Hill in Fishersville and dedicated many years of service to the Augusta County Public Schools before retiring. Shirley cherished time with her family, friends, and church community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Smith. She is survived by special cousins, Tom Harlow and his wife, Ann, Sandra Ingram and her husband, Guy, Gloria “Cookie” Landes, and Donna Linhos and her husband, Tim; best friend, Dianna Shifflett and special friends, Otis and Debbie Strickler. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
