Shirlee "Neigler" Jean Cappo

September 11, 1952 - October 3, 2023

Shirlee Jean (Neigler) Cappo, 71, widow of Joseph Michael “Joe” Cappo, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her residence. 
Mrs. Cappo was born in Racine, Ohio on September 11, 1952, a daughter of the late George Jacob Neigler and Beulah (Marr) Neigler. 
Shirlee retired from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center as a secretary. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and boating on the lake. She was a member of the “Swimmin’ Women” and loved her furry friends, especially “Maverick”.
Surviving, is a son, Jason M. Cappo and his wife, Hollie of Waynesboro; a granddaughter, Maren Jolee Cappo; a brother, David Neigler and his wife, Tina of Racine, Ohio; a sister, June Miller and her husband, Phillip of Patriot, Ohio; two nieces, Sarah Wamsley and her husband, Matt and Virginia “Ginny” Miller; a nephew, William “Bill” Miller; an aunt, Sue Marr; and two great-nephews, Luke and Bowen Wamsley.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Lester Kennedy. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service (11:00 a.m. ~ 1:00 p.m.)
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Matt Wamsley, David Neigler, Todd Michael, Richard Carroll, Ben Carey and Tyler Thomas.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is handling her arrangements.
