Shelvey Huntley Lanum

Shelvey (Huntley) Lanum, 66, of Staunton, VA, went to her heavenly home to live with Jesus, Friday, June 2, 2023. 
She was born on June 10, 1956, in Staunton, daughter of Russell Liggett Huntley and Shelvey “Pat” Jean Huntley. She was a loving, dedicated mother to one son and one daughter with her husband of 48 years, George Calvin Lanum Jr. 
Shelvey received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She faithfully served at King’s Daughters Hospital and Augusta Health for over 40 years as an LPN/RN. Shelvey had a passion for learning. She loved spending time with her family and vacationing in Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.
Surviving is her mother, Pat Huntley; husband, George Calvin Lanum Jr.; son, George Calvin Lanum, III (wife, Sarah Place Lanum); daughter, Shari Jean Kalinka (husband, Eric Christopher Kalinka); her daughter in love, Sierra Blu Huntley; two brothers, Russell “Rusty” Clinton Huntley and Ronald Floyd Huntley; two grandsons, Jay Preston Lewis and Kevin Ric Lewis II; granddaughter in love, Winter Blu Huntley Wood; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her father, Russell Liggett Huntley, preceded her in death in 2012.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Oak Lawn Mausoleum & Memory Gardens by Pastor Jerry Thomas from Church of God.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the staff at King’s Daughters Health and Rehabilitation Center for the services they provided to Mrs. Lanum in the last few months of her life.  The family would also like to thank the Social Services staff for going above and beyond to ensure Mrs. Lanum received adequate care.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
