Sheldon Mason Miller, II

Sheldon Mason Miller II, age 51, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg, WV. He was born on May 10, 1972, in Harrisonburg, VA, the son of Betty (Kesner) Judy of Petersburg, WV and the late Sheldon Mason Miller.

Sheldon was a 1990 graduate of Petersburg High School and he had formerly attended South Branch Baptist Church in Petersburg. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served in South Korea and Desert Storm. Sheldon worked for Potomac Highland Construction and was a member of the Iron Workers Union.

Sheldon enjoyed riding motorcycles and squirrel hunting. He was honored to be the road captain of the American Legion Riders Post #64 and the past road captain for Post #78. Sheldon always participated in the annual American Legion Charity Run and he loved dressing up during the holidays for the kids.

In addition to his mother, Sheldon leaves behind to cherish his memory: his fiance, Pam Rinker of Petersburg, WV; a daughter, Callie Miller of Richmond, VA; a son, William Miller of Fredericksburg, VA; a sister, Christina Ours (Buzz) of Jacksonville, NC; and 2 brothers, Danny Miller (Connie) of Petersburg, WV and Mason Miller (Felicia) of Upper Tract, WV.

Sheldon's family will receive friends on Monday, August 7, 2023, 4-6 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Doyle Patch officiating and with Military Honors conducted by The US Army and Grant County Veterans Honor Guard.
