Shawn Alford

Shawn Earl Alford, "Percey", passed away peacefully in his home in Grottoes, surrounded by family, on March 29th, 2025. Percey was born in Waynesboro on June 8th, 1964. He was a son to the late Francis Earl Alford and Anna Eleanor Alford. On December 30th, 1989 he was united in marriage for 35 years to his wife, Sharon Haynes Alford.

Percey is survived by three sons, Derek Alford and wife, Kaite of Monterey, Christian Alford and wife, Savannah of Grottoes, and Justin Alford of Crimora; siblings, Cecilia Mawyer of Crimora, CO Alford of Crimora, and Pretrea Mawyer of Waynesboro. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, Maddie, and Sawyer, and one grandbaby on the way.

He was a truck driver for 40 years. He traveled all across the country hauling livestock. He loved Jesus and had committed his life to the Lord. He spent lots of time hunting, fishing, and playing golf with his family and friends. Percey never met a stranger; he was beloved by everyone who knew him, family, friends, and people he worked with. He loved to pick on people and the more he picked on you, the more he loved you. He has the most love for his amazing wife who cared for him daily. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

A private service will be held for family at a later date.
