Sandra Kay Wolfe Botkin

CHURCHVILLE – Sandra Kay Wolfe Botkin, 73, of 592 Dry Branch Road, went to be with her Lord while being surrounded by her family in her home on Sunday (July 23, 2023) after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born October 25, 1949 in Staunton, she was a daughter of William Nathan and Anna Pearle (Rexrode) Wolfe. Sandra was employed as a certified nursing assistant by Western State Hospital for 30 years prior to retirement. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Sandra enjoyed tending to her flowerbeds and watching the birds - especially the hummingbirds - that frequented her yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Sherrill Wayne Botkin; a brother, Wayne Wolfe; a brother-in-law, John Welcher; and her beloved dog, “Rusty.”

Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Hiner and husband Roy of Churchville, and Lori Everhart and husband Scott of Churchville; three sisters, Sherry Welcher of Churchville, Donna Wolfe of Staunton, and Brenda Mitchell and husband Doug of Staunton; a brother, Calvin Wolfe and wife Jewell of Churchville; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wolfe of Churchville; two granddaughters, Brandi Cash and husband Kyle, and Shellie Hiner; two great-grandsons, Bo Hiner and Owen Cash; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27 in Thornrose Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
