Sandra A. Sprouse

CRAIGSVILLE – Sandra Kay (Armstrong) Sprouse, 73, wife of Rodney E. Sprouse, died Monday (July 26, 2021) in Augusta Health. 

Born May 31, 1948 in Deerfield, she was a daughter of Millard Walton “Buck” Armstrong and Lois Elizabeth (Robinson) Armstrong. 

Sandra was employed by E. I. DuPont for over twenty years.  She was an avid Rook player, and enjoyed bluegrass festivals and reading; above all, she treasured her family.  Sandra was a member of Deerfield Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Rodney Eric Sprouse. 

Surviving in addition to her husband of 56 years are two daughters, Crystal Dawn Rowland, and Sondra Jeannette Colvin and husband Jay, all of Craigsville; sister Sharon Smith of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; brother Lewis Armstrong of Churchville; three grandchildren, Rodney Wayne Sprouse (Heather), Dakota Dawn Rowland and Eric Walton Sprouse (Tori); two step grandsons, Michael Bowles and Joseph Rowland; two great-grandsons, Samuel Colt Sprouse and Parker Browning Sprouse; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friends Teronda and Frankie Overcash. 

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 30 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Curtis Crawford.  Burial will follow in the Sprouse family cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be J. M., Jerry, and Mark Ingram, Ronald Brouillette, Randy Sprouse, Tony Stall, John Burgandine and Chris Montgomery.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
