S. Joann Hedrick

Shirley Joann (Sites) Hedrick, age 88, of Moorefield, WV passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg, WV.

Joann was born on May 14, 1935 in Mouth of Seneca, WV and was a daughter of the late Cletis Sites and Ella Grace (Painter) Sites.

In addition to her parents Joann was preceded in death by one son, Michael Clay Hedrick; five brothers, Gene H. Sites, Harlan B. Sites, Holly W. Sites and infants Cletis Sites, Jr. and Jackie L. Sites and two sisters, Pauline Hedrick and Violet Ruth Hedrick.

Joann was a waitress at the former Townhouse Restaurant in Petersburg and retired from Hanover Shoe Factory after 20 years.  She also was a waitress for the former Yokum’s Restaurant in Seneca Rocks, WV and worked at Shop N Save in Petersburg. 

Joann loved shopping, enjoying a coffee with friends at McDonald’s and cooking for her family on special occasions.

Joann is survived by one son, David E. Conrad and wife Holly of Moorefield, WV; four grandchildren, Hunter Hedrick, Christopher Conrad, Denali Hedrick and Samantha Conrad; two step grandsons, Brandon Barger II and Isaac Barger; one brother, Bill L. Sites of Riverton, WV; one niece, Brenda Sites and one nephew, Junior Sites.   

Joann’s family will receive friends on Monday from 6 – 8 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10 AM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Durbin and Eddie Mullenax officiating. Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton, WV.
