Ruth Elaine Guptill Campbell

Ruth Elaine Guptill Campbell, 95, formerly of 887 Shoresbrook Road, Spartanburg, SC and Staunton, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Born in Somersworth, New Hampshire, she was the widow of the late Robert Edward Campbell and daughter of the late Winthrop H. Guptill and Eloise Beatrice Boyle Guptill. She was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith.

Surviving is a son, Robert E. Campbell, Jr. (June) of Chicago, Illinois; two daughters, Deborah Ann Campbell (Alan Brown) of Smyrna, New York and Susan Bellew (David) of Spartanburg; a sister, Margaret Gauldin of Richmond, VA; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Winthrop and his wife Carolyn, a sister, Ann Bengtson, and a brother-in-law, Harvey Gauldin.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM ,in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Grover Timms and Reverend Rob McCurley officiating.

Interment will be the Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton, Virginia at 2:00 PM on Monday May 8, 2023.

The family will be at their respective homes.
