Russell Edward "Russ" Coiner

Russell Edward “Russ” Coiner, 78, husband of Nancy Carol (Thomas) Coiner, of New Hope Road in Staunton, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. 
Mr. Coiner was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on November 10, 1944, a son of the late Robbin Coiner and Vera Kerby Coiner. 
Russ attended Verona United Methodist Church and graduated from Wilson Memorial High School. On July 10, 1981, he married Nancy Carol (Thomas) Coiner, with whom he spent 42 years with. Russ was formerly employed with GE, Virginia Panel, and later retired from World Test Systems. He enjoyed camping and collecting brass bladed fans. 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coiner was preceded in death by a brother, John Coiner and his wife, Linda.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Rosalyn Zettlemoyer of Richmond; a grandson, Robert “Rusty” Zettlemoyer and his wife, Erin of Richmond; a brother, Richard Coiner and his wife, Gail, of Richmond; two sisters, Nelda “Lou” Acord and her husband, Mike of Crimora and Patricia Gayhart and her husband, “Johnny” of Waynesboro; a number of nieces and nephews; and a large group of faithful friends. 
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Shawna Hiner.
The family will receive friends following the service. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Russ’s name to Verona United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 47, Verona, VA 24482.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
