Roy Wayne Sprouse

Roy “Wayne” Sprouse Sr., 77, left his earthly life peacefully on Tuesday July 7, 2026, at Augusta Health in Fishersville. He was born on June 29, 1949, in Charlottesville to the late Floyd Allan and Juanita Ruth Sprouse. Roy worked for Wayne Tech for twenty-five years and outside of work he enjoyed slot car racing. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty years Rita Kay Sprouse; his son, Roy Wayne Sprouse Jr.; his children, Shelby Marie Sprouse, Sabrina Ann Sprouse, and Samantha Jean Sprouse; his stepdaughter, Deena Lynn Brannon and her husband, Darin C. Brannon and their two children, Alexis Uba and her husband, Dr. Jimmy Uba and Madissen Brannon.; his step granddaughter, Hailee Cook. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Shelby Jean Sprouse: and his stepdaughter, Glynndia Dawn Cook. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro. Henry Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
