Roseann Teter Pittington
Roseann Teter Pittington, 77 of Rockingham, Virginia departed this earth on Monday June 23rd at Sentara, to enter her eternal heavenly mansion while awaiting the reunion with her husband. She was born December 3rd, 1947 in Onego, West Virginia, where she spent most of her early life being raised by her aunt (mom) Mamie Teter and Curtis Raines.
Roseann was preceded in death by her father Delmer C Teter, mother Ellen R Teter. Also preceding Roseann was sister Lois Shull and Thomas Teter. She is survived by husband Ronald (Ron) and brothers David Floyd Teter, wife Alice, and James Guy Teter. Son Curtis Lee Pittington and daughter Kelli Lane Landes, husband Donald. Four grandchildren, Joshua Wanger, wife Alissa, Stephen Morris, Samuel Pittington and Addison Pittington. Plus, one great granddaughter Everly Rose Morris.
Roseann graduated from Circleville High School in May 1966 and then moved to the Mt Solon area and met her husband of 56 years at the Bridgewater Esso gas station. They were united in marriage on February 14th, 1969 at Summit Church of the Brethren, by Reverend Wilmer R Hurst. They lived in Bridgewater until 2002, before moving to Belmont Estates (which she wanted and then hated). In 2004 they moved to Mt Pleasant, Texas and then in 2010 moved to Millsboro, Delaware. In March 2020, after both fully retired, they build their home in Gailcrist, Rockingham, Va.
Roseann worked at Metro Pants Factory in Bridgewater until the children were born. Before the official 911 System, Roseann was the dispatcher for Bridgewater Police Dept and Bridgewater Vol Rescue Squad, of which she remained a Life Member. Roseann worked for Holly Farms/Tyson Foods for twenty-two years as QA Manager and later in accounting. While in Texas, she worked for Posey Lumber Company, until moving to Delaware retired.
Roseann chose cremation. There will be an 11:00 am memorial service on July 5th at The Moscow Covenant Brethren Church, located at 866 Nash Road, Mt Solon, Virginia 22843 with Darren Howdyshell presiding, with a light lunch afterwards. No flowers, but donations could go to St Jude's Hospital.
