Rosalie C. McLear

Rosalie Josephine Curry McLear, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.
She was born on June 29, 1937, in Staunton to the late Leon Randolph and Helen Mae Back Curry, Sr.
She worked for many years with her late husband, John Wesley McLear, Jr., in his jewelry and horology business.
Throughout her life, Rosalie also found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments shared with her family. She had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors and spent many hours tending to her beautiful garden and embarking on camping trips. Rosalie also had a great love of reading.Guided by her strong faith, Rosalie was an active member of the Staunton Church of the Brethren. Her devotion to her church community touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.She is survived by her two daughters, Linda McLear Oliva and her husband, Dick, and Susan McLear Gentry and her husband, Jeff; her sons, Michael McLear and his wife, Pat, and Tim McLear and Vicki Almarode; her sister, Shirley Curry Cobb and her husband, Harry; her brother, Raymond Curry and his wife, Margaret; her ten grandchildren, Kimberley McMahon, Justin McLear, Heather Tompkins, Richie Oliva, Jason Gentry, Ashley Gentry, Scott McLear, Taylor Swecker, Wesley McLear, and Dustin McLear; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, she is preceded in death by a son, John Wesley McLear, III; a brother, Leon Randolph Curry, Jr.; and a sister, Judy Curry Collins.The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Staunton Church of the Brethren with Pastors Beth Jarrett and Scott Duffey officiating.
