Ronald W. Corbin

Ronald Wilson Corbin, 80, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Augusta Health in Fishersville. He was born on February 2, 1946, in Staunton, to the late Ray Carlton, Jr. and Margaret Geneva Barbee Corbin. Ronald proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked for more than twenty-five years at Western State Hospital in Staunton. For more than thirty years, Ronald shared his life with his wife, Barbare, who preceded him in death on June 10, 2025. A man who appreciated the outdoors, Ronald enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he had the opportunity. He was known for his patience and attention to detail, whether working on a cross-stitch project, tackling a word search, or settling in to watch his favorite westerns. He is survived by his brother, Mark Gillespie and his wife, Lisa; and his nephews, Jeremy Gillespie and Keith Branch and his wife, Shayla. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbare Sue Graham Corbin; and his sister, Gale Elizabeth Corbin Carr. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton with Reverend Russell Heinrich officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside in recognition of Ronald's service to his country. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dana Cleveland for her care and dedication. Her compassion and support was a true blessing to Ronald and his family.
