Ronald “Ron” Wayne Davis
Ronald “Ron” Wayne Davis, 61, of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center following a courageous year-long battle with cancer.
Born on October 21, 1964, Ron was the beloved son of Nancy Davis Balavage and the late Wayne Bennett Davis. A man of exceptional work ethic and character, Ron spent over thirty years serving his community through his work with the Fairfax County Park Authority and Public Works departments. He took tremendous pride in the work he did for the county, approaching every task with dedication and a spirit of service.
Beyond his professional life, Ron was known for his immense generosity and heart for others. He was an avid fan of Washington sports, always cheering on the Nationals, the Capitals, and his lifelong team, the Redskins. He found great joy in watching the games alongside his faithful dog, Houston. Whether he was listening to a favorite country tune, a classic rock anthem, or simply spending time with his loved ones, Ron’s presence was a source of strength and warmth. To Ron, nothing was more important than family, and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind will be cherished forever.
In addition to his father, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, James “Jimmy” Davis, and his father-in-law, Richard Cross.
He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his devoted wife, Laura Ann Davis; his four sons, James Davis II, Anthony Davis and his fiancé Inez Reid, Jason Davis and his partner Avery Atkins, and Aaron Davis; and his adored grandchildren, Zacchaeus Reid and King Davis. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Stetzer and her husband Keith; his nephew, Charles Polizzi and his wife Patty, along with their children Brentley and Mackenzie; his mother-in-law, Janice Cross; his brother-in-law, Matthew Cross; and his sister-in-law, Jeanne Wanamaker and her children, Steven, Hailey, and Kennedy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory in Strasburg, VA on Saturday, April 25, 2026 beginning at 11am, officiated by Reverend Nate Robinson of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock, VA.
The family welcomes gifts of flowers, or for those who are so moved, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Ron’s memory.
