Roland "Ron" Rhodes Garber

Roland "Ron" Rhodes Garber, 84, of Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

He was born on September 4, 1939 and was a son of the late Ellis J. and Elizabeth (Rhodes) Garber.

Ron had worked at Rockingham National Bank and Valley National Bank prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Navy.

Ron was united in marriage on October 14, 1962 to Elizabeth (Emswiler) Garber.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Jeff Garber, and daughter, Terri Lowry and husband, Kenneth; 2 brothers, Larry Garber and Richard "Dick" Garber; a grandson, Dustin Garber and wife Sara; four step great grandchildren, Christian Anthony, David Anthony, Cozette Anthony and Tyler Anthony; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Heatwole.

A service celebrating Ron's life will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Harrisonburg Baptist Church at 10:00 AM with Pastor Matt Winters officiating.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
