Roger Lee Harold

November 2, 1947 - April 26, 2023

Roger Lee Harold, 75, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in the care of hospice after a long two year battle with cancer.

Born in Petersburg and raised in Upper Tract, he was the youngest child of the late Shyrl and Ruth Hedrick Harold.

Roger was a 1966 graduate of Franklin High School. He retired from Western Electric/AT&T after 30 years. His second career was in security for Hedgesville High School and Athletics, 4-H Camp and the Clarion Inn in Shepherdstown. He was a life partner in his wife's real estate business, The Carol Harold Team of Long & Foster. Roger was a member and served as an officer in several locals with the Communication Workers of America, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He believed in workers' rights.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his brother, Estel Harold (Rosemary); brother-in-law and hunting buddy, Archy Kenneth Lawrence; mother and father-in-law, Walter and Ruth Heldreth and sister-in-law, Connie Heldreth McCartney

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, May 1, 2023 at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract.
