Roger Lee Baughman

Roger Lee Baughman, 80, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Augusta Health.

He was born on April 13, 1946 and was a son of the late Eskridge Baughman and Dorothy (Snyder) Hefner.

Roger was a mechanic and had worked at Foley Motors, Amerigas and Chapman Motors prior to starting Baughman Auto Service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved music and had a talent that he played by ear. He was so proud that his grandson Jeff played by ear as well. He loved to camp and spend time with his family.

He met his wife Patsy (Cave) Baughman in June of 1964, and was married on July 11, 1964. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2026. They lived the majority of their married life on the Branch.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Stoner & husband Paul; two brothers, Eddie Baughman & companion Vickie, and Glen Baughman; four grandchildren, Josh Baughman & wife Kyla, Jacob Baughman & fiancee' Morgan Webster, Jeff Stoner & wife Hanna, Tyler Stoner & companion Pricilla Blair; six great grandchildren, Kiser Baughman, Kennedy Baughman, Bennett Baughman, Jett Baughman, Jericho Stoner, and Scottie Baughman; brother-in-law, Nelson Kyger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lee Baughman; step-father, Winters Hefner; sister, Dottie Kyger; and sister-in-law, Lola Baughman.

A service celebrating Roger's life will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Briery Branch Church of the Brethren with Pastors Billy Curry and Bob Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Briery Branch Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater.
