Roger Kennedy, 84, lost a courageous battle with Altzheimer’s disease on November 14, 2023.

A memorial service for Mr. Kennedy will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Stover Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Mr. Kennedy was born in Chambersburg, PA, on March 13, 1939, a son of the late Roy Maxwell and Sara Gift Kennedy. Roger enjoyed a 45-year career as a small business owner of the Three Pigs Barbeque in McLean, VA. Roger was proud of serving the McLean community and helped countless people as both an employer and friend through his business and as a member of the Northern Virginia Restaurant Association. Roger enjoyed golfing with his wife and friends as well as flying, Roger held a private pilot’s license with a commercial rating.

Roger is survived by his wife of 60 years Bonita “Bonnie” Kennedy; his son Craig Kennedy (Jennifer); his daughter Karen Cave (Mike); two grandchildren Cody Kennedy and Madison Kennedy; his brother Duane Kennedy (Judy); sister in law Georgia Kennedy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ron Kennedy and a sister Carol Ann Kennedy.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests Memorial that donations be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., #405, Winchester, VA 22601. 

The entire family is most appreciative to the staff and caregivers at Cambridge Landing and especially Blue Ridge Hospice for the care and compassion during this difficult time.
