Richard Reeves Ruddle

Richard Reeves Ruddle, Sr., age 97, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. He was born on July 19, 1926, at Ruddle, WV, the son of the late John Preston and Clara Ella Ruddle. On December 25, 1948, Richard married Virginia (Murphy) Ruddle, who preceded him in death on April 30, 2010.
Mr. Ruddle attended Franklin High School and was a member of the Ruddle Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Trustee, Deacon and Elder. Richard enjoyed being a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Richard had worked as a Farmer, Veterinarian, small engine repair, and painted houses in his earlier years. 
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory: 2 sons: Richard Ruddle and John Ruddle (Linda) all of Franklin, WV; sister-in-law, Kathryn Ruddle of Franklin, WV; 1 grandchild, Cassandra “Sandy” Kile Richards (David); 2 great-grandchildren; 6 nieces; 4 nephews; and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Reed; and 3 sisters, Kathleen Ruddle, Maxine Dunkle, and Pauline Harman.
Mr. Ruddle's family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Ruddle Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Deborah Beam officiating. Interment will be in the Ruddle Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Ruddle, WV. Memorials may be made to: Ruddle Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund or Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
