Raymond Theodore Morell

Raymond Theodore Morell, 86, of Goshen, Virginia passed away on July 16, 2023, at his home.

Mr. Morell was born on in Providence, Rhode Island on December 18, 1936, the son of the late Theodore L. Morell and Evelyn Wall Morell.

Raymond was veteran of the United States Army, the 101st Airborne Paratroopers stationed in Japan. He was a member of the FFA and the 4H Club. He owned an insurance agency, a restaurant, and two theaters.

Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing and going to the beach. Raymond worked every day to make sure his family not only had a nice home but all that they needed and hoped for. He expressed his love to his family every day.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morell was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Morell Duffy.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 63 years, Vercie “Nell” Morell, are five children, Dr. Elizabath M. Walton PhD, Michael R. Morell, Melissa M. Ireson and her husband, Harry Ireson, Kenneth M. Morell and James A. Morell; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

“We loved and cared for him our whole life. He was a great husband and father.”

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Craigsville by Pastor Garey Wilson.

Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum.
