Ray L. Price

CHURCHVILLE – Ray Leonard Price, 88, died Friday (November 5, 2021) in Augusta Health. 

Born November 1, 1933 in Augusta County, he was a son of the late Gaines Roscoe and Mary Frances (Sutherland) Price. 

Ray was employed by Basic Witz Furniture Company for a number of years, and then for most of his career was a professional floor sander.  He genuinely enjoyed his work.  His favorite pastimes included personal woodworking projects and traveling with his wife Mary.  He was an active Jehovah’s Witness and attended the Staunton Kingdom Hall throughout his lifetime. 

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lilly Shiflett and Corene Wagner; and two brothers, Arthur and George Price.  Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen (Losh) Price; two sons, Tody Price and wife Denise, and Jay Price and wife Kelly, all of Churchville; two stepsons, Charles Losh and wife Susan, and Allen Losh and wife Paige, all of Churchville; two children from a previous marriage, Ray L. Price Jr. and Brenda M. Price; a sister, Janie Wood of Harriston; three brothers, Lewis Price of Staunton, and Ernie and Walter Price, both of Harrisonburg; four grandchildren, Tristen, Krissa, Jayson and Austin Price; three step grandsons, Colton, Michael and Logan Losh; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13 in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens, officiated by Wayne Wilfong. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Friday in Bear Funeral Home.
