Ralph Hinkle

Ralph Allen Hinkle, age 82 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family while under the care of hospsice.

Ralph was born on July 27, 1941 in Rig, WV and was a son of the late Eldie Elwood Hinkle and Ollie Franklin (Eye) Hinkle.  In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by one sister, Orpha (Hinkle) Imperio and an infant brother.

Ralph is survived by his wife Phoebe (Barr) Hinkle

One daughter:  Julie Swick of Petersburg, WV

One son:  Robert Hinkle of  Petersburg, WV

Three grandchildren:  Miranda Simon (Tyler); Matthew Swick and Alyssa Hinkle

Three great grandchildren:  Maiya Mongold, Makinley Simon and Marlee Simon

One brother:  Omer James Hinkle (Mary) of Rig, WV

Ralph retired from American Woodmark in Moorefield after 41 years. Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was recognized in the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association Hall of Fame and Museum.  Ralph was a member of the Bible Baptist Church on Frosty Hollow Road.

Ralph donated his body to the West Virginia University Human Gift Registry. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date.
