Prentice Davis Raynes

Prentice "Jr" Davis Raynes Jr., 92, of Grottoes, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026.

He was born on April 12, 1934, and was a son of Prentice and Sadie (Herring) Raynes.

Jr retired from Reynolds Metals in Grottoes after over 35 years of service.

Jr was united in marriage to Phyllis (Eutsler) Raynes, who survives.

He is survived by five children, Terry Raynes, Betty (Randy) Dean, David (Beth) Raynes, Beverly (Darelle) Argenbright, and Timothy Raynes; brothers, Donald Raynes, and Calvin (Becky) Raynes; sisters, Brenda (Billy) Hoover, and Valeria Reid; brother-in-law, Gary Lutz; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Stoop, Wanda Lake, Ruby Lutz, Dianna Raynes; brothers, Thomas Raynes, Herbert Raynes, and Dickie Raynes.

A graveside service celebrating Jr's life will be held on June 26, 2026 at 10 AM at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, with Guy Hudson officiating.
