Philippe Eugene Boucher

October 11, 1948 - March 19, 2025

Philippe Eugene Boucher, 76, of Dayton, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Westbrook, Maine on October 11, 1948 to parents Raymond Raoul Boucher and Rosalina Morales Boucher. He has one sister, Denise, and grew up surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins on both his Maine and Puerto Rican sides.

Phil served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from August 1968 through July 1971. He served as a communications specialist in Bien Hoa, Vietnam and later in Wurzburg, Germany. His service reinforced the characteristics of loyalty, responsibility and integrity that were evident throughout his life. It also resulted in his lifelong abhorrence of war and violence.

Following his discharge from the Army, Phil worked for twenty years at Broadcasting Magazine, in Washington, D.C., eventually as Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Upon relocating to the Valley, he developed Valley Golf Center (now Mulligan’s). After selling it, he worked in real estate for several years before retiring.

Phil is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sally Boucher, his two sons Nicholas Boucher and Timothy Boucher, by his sister Denise Boucher of Alexandria, his sister-in-law Katy Culp and her husband Dave, and nieces, Sarah Culp and Beth Culp.

Phil was fun loving and well known for his sense of humor, which he maintained throughout his illness. He loved people - starting with family, which for him meant everything. He made lifelong friends, made new friends easily and was generous to a fault. Phil was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church for almost 30 years, and was particularly active in ministries serving the homeless.

A service celebrating Phil’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Pastor Stephane Sorge officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests charitable contributions be made to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, WMRA Public Radio, or Trinity Presbyterian Church.
