Peggy Sue Knott

Peggy Sue Knott, 77, lovingly known as “GP,” of Staunton, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at her residence.
Ms. Knott was born on May 31, 1948 in Mt. Solon, a daughter of the late James William “Bill” and Elizabeth (Ralston) Knott.
Peggy was a member of Pleasant View Lutheran Church and retired after working for 44 years as a cook and baker at Augusta Health. She was an honorary member of Churchville Volunteer Fire and Rescue and enjoyed baking. Peggy cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Puffenbarger; two brothers, Hansford Ralston and John W. Knott; and her life partner, Rick Carroll.
Surviving is a son, John M. Knott and his wife Frances; two sisters, Virginia Cline and Joanne Mathias (Charles); a sister-in-law, Adelaide Ralston; two grandchildren, Naomi Fetty and Kegan Knott; two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Easton Fetty; numerous nieces and nephews; and several special pets. 
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
