Peggy O'Neil (Morris) Hughes

Peggy O'Neil (Morris) Hughes, 86, of Waynesboro, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on June 15, 1938 and was a daughter of the late Robert Morris and Nina (Sullivan) Morris.

She was a member of Grottoes Church of the Brethren.

Peggy was united in marriage to Linwood Hughes who preceded her in death.

Peggy is survived by a daughter, Lisa Meek and husband Kenny; granddaughter, Tori Meek and fiance Turbo Chittum; sister, Dee Roadcap; and brother, Ronnie Morris and wife Sandy.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she is preceded in death by two sons, Linwood "Bo" Hughes, Jr. and Patrick Hughes and a sister, Pat Sullivan.

A graveside service celebrating Peggy's life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Edgewood Cemetery with Rev. Mark Wingfield officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Sullivan, Jesse Sullivan, Bobbie Sullivan, Turbo Chittum, Neal Meek, and Isaiah Ratliff.
