Paul Ramsey

Paul Kelly Ramsey, 63, of 149 Spring Crest Lane, Staunton VA, passed away Saturday, October 21. 2023 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab, Fishersville. He was born June 4, 1960 in Waynesboro, the son of James Roger Atkins and Tessie Elizabeth Atkins.

Paul attended Stuarts Draft High School. He was a self-employed independent contractor for years, laying carpet and painting. He took pride in his work and constantly looked out for his clients.

Paul will be remembered most of all for his kind and giving heart. It was his most precious attribute. He loved his family and friends dearly and would do anything he could to help those in need. He was also known for his intelligence, quick wit, and pool playing skills.

A talented guitar player, he played in multiple bands locally in his younger years. He loved music and taught himself to play the guitar, which he played in church for many years. He was so gifted and had many talents. He will be so missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Ramsey and his sister, Felicia Ramsey; his grandfather, Cecil Johnson and grandmother, Eva Johnson; his grandfather, James Leeth and grandmother, Rachel Leeth and his uncle, Ray Johnson, who was very special to Paul.

In addition to his parents, James Roger Atkins and Tessie Elizabeth Atkins, he is survived by his daughter, Destiny Bartley and his son, Jared Ramsey both of Augusta County; his grandchildren, Roxanne and Elias Bartley; his brother, Jimmy Atkins and his sister, Laura Atkins both of Augusta County.

No service is being held. Family will meet at later date for celebration of life.
