Patricia "Patti" Sue (Hevener) Mawyer
Patricia “Patti” Sue (Hevener) Mawyer, 76, wife of Clarence T. “C.T.” Mawyer, of Waynesboro, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Augusta Health of Fishersville.
Patti was born in Staunton, Virginia on July 5, 1948, a daughter of the late Virgil Hevener and Elizabeth (Roby) Hevener Lilley.
Patti retired from Genicom and was an active member of Valley Baptist Church. A devoted Christian, she found joy in reading her Bible. She showed strength and courage through her faith as a four-time cancer survivor. In her free time, Patti enjoyed crafting, decorating, and cooking, as well as watching TV, especially westerns. She cherished spending time on her porch and taking care of the flowers in her yard. Above all, Patti loved life, her grandchildren, and staying connected with family and friends through her computer.
In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by sisters, Carolyn Hevener and Ada Campbell; twin brothers, Larry and Gary Hevener; and her step-father, Don Lilley.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 59 years are her three sons, Jeff Mawyer and his wife, Mary, Kevin Mawyer and his wife, Tracy, and Jamie Mawyer; grandchildren, Carrie Canipe and her husband, Dakota, Kahla Mosley and her husband, Allen, Sydney Mawyer, Luke Mawyer, and Noah Mawyer; two great-granddaughters, Claire “Bug” and Caroline Canipe; three brothers, Chuck Hevener, Doug Hevener and his wife, Dana, and Ronnie Hevener and his wife, Jennifer; a brother-in-law, Pete Campbell; sisters-in-law, Brenda and Sandy Hevener; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends including Wanda, Jan, Linda, and Ellen in her bible study group.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Valley Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft.
A memorial service will follow visitation.
