Patricia Ann McCool

Patricia Ann McCool, 78, of Staunton, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at her residence.

Patricia was born on February 18, 1945, in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter to the late Willard Lee and Mary Eloise (Thompson) McCool.

Ms. McCool was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, James Madison University, and the University of Virginia. She taught math at Shelburne Middle School and she was a tennis and basketball coach at Robert E. Lee High School. She retired from Staunton City Schools after 31 years of service.

Patricia loved to laugh and she was a huge fan of all the UVA sports. She was also a charter member of Linden Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by a sister, Elsie Jean McCool of Staunton; two nephews, Michael Scott McCool of Chester and Brandon Lee McCool and his wife, Kelly of Fredericksburg; two great nieces, Kinsley McCool and Madison McCool; two great nephews, Levi and Liam McCool; a sister-in-law, Peggy McCool of Chester; a godson, Jonathan Brett Goodloe and his wife, Brooke of Charlottesville and their children, Luke and Olivia; special friends, Lauren, Carol and Jim, Sara, Liz; and many others that she loved.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Lee McCool.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home by Reverends Luke Smith, Tom Rosemeier, and Mike Fitzgerald. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Vince Barrett, Gary Brown, Richard Dickerson, Neil Fix, Ryan Fix, Doug Hall, and Roger Perry
