Owen C. Pence

Owen C. Pence, 91, formerly of Grottoes, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Village in Harrisonburg.
He was born February 15, 1932, a son of the late Harold S. and Alberta C. (Scott) Pence.

Owen proudly served his county in the United States Air Force and retired from Reynolds Metals Co. in Grottoes.

He enjoyed camping, trout fishing, playing golf and spending time at Myrtle Beach in the winter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna L. (Powers) Pence; siblings Malcolm Pence, Wilson Pence, Johnny Pence and Margaret Francisco.

Survivors include many beloved nieces and nephews of which he and his wife treated them as their own children.

A private family graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023 at

Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Family members are asked to meet directly at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m.
