Odessa Lee Sandridge

Odessa Lee Sandridge, 91, of Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

She was born on September 7, 1934, and was a daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Morris) Shifflett.

Odessa was a dedicated and loving wife,mother, and grandmother, always sacrificing on behalf of her family. She was a Rook, Scrabble and most recently UNO player extraordinaire. She loved cardinals, and her room at Bridgewater Retirement was decorated with everything cardinal and was often filled with UNO playing, roaring laughter and many antics from her children. At 91 she still had to call them down from time to time. She enjoyed quieter, less rowdy visits with her baby sister, Arlene Pitts, who has been steadfast in her love and support.

Odessa was united in marriage to Dennis Sandridge, who preceded her in death.

Odessa is survived by seven children, Patty (Mike) Morris, Wanda (Randy) Dean, Kathy (Bill) Kile, Bryan Sandridge, Donna (Steve) Lantz, Wendy (Mike) Payton, Kim (Angela) Sandridge; sister, Arlene Pitts; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Willis and S.L. Shifflett; and sisters, Beverly Evans and Ellen Biller.
