Nancy Alfred

Nancy Wiseman Alfred, 88, of Waynesboro, entered her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The daughter of the late Charles Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Wiseman, she was born on December 30, 1936.

Nancy worked as a Realtor for 40 years and took great pleasure in helping her clients finding their perfect home. She was a member of the Greater Waynesboro Augusta Association of Realtors as well as Virginia and National Association of Realtors. In addition, she earned the designation of Certified Residential Specialist and was a member of the Graduate Realtor Institute.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Eugene Alfred in 1980; her sister, Ann Lotts Parr; grandson, Ryan Sawyer Carter and her companion of 33 years, Robert W. Scates.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Carter and husband, Scott of Waynesboro and Jantha Davidson of Fort Defiance; brother, Lewis Wiseman of Waynesboro; sister, Barbara Swortzel and her significant other, Donnie Lawhorne of Wayensboro; grandchildren: Brittany Gordon and husband, Daniel, Morgan Shank and husband, Kurtis, McKenna Burford and husband, Austin, and Bryce Carter and wife, Abby; great grandchildren: Sullivan “Sully” Gordon, Ella Mae Burford, Anderson “Andy” Burford, Elliot Glen Shank, Afton Mae Carter,and two great grandchildren on the way; as well as a special niece and caregiver, Deanna Lotts and additional nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Riverview Cemetery. All who plan on attending are asked to meet at the cemetery.

In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank or the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the special friends, Debbie Brown and Donna Johnson, and for the excellent care provided by the Regency Staff, the nurses at Interim Home Health, and Hospice of the Shenandoah, for their loving care of Nancy.
