Mona "Lisa" Long

Mona Lisa Long, 60, of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Winchester. VA.

Lisa was born in Winchester, VA on January 26, 1963, a daughter of the late Albert Hockman Hodson and the late Cornelia Ann Wymer Hodson Gray.  Lisa loved to sing and was part of several gospel groups including Faith Renew (her family group), Heaven’s Harmony, Inner Harbor, and Greater Love.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Douglas Hodson; a sister Diane Hockman, and a niece Megan Elizabeth Lekas. 

Survivors include her husband of 28 years Ricky Allen Long of Strasburg, VA; one daughter Bobbi Jo Jenkins (Craig) of Gerrardstown, WV; one son Christopher Funk of Strasburg, VA; a stepson Jerry Long of Front Royal, VA; six grandchildren Susan Jenkins, Madison Price, Allison Jenkins, Alex Jenkins, Emily Funk, Adrienne Orndorff; seven great-grandchildren Mia, Liam, Ryleigh, Benny, Dalton, Karlee, and Karson; two sister Phyliss Darr (Wayne) and Cornelia Sims (Jeff); three brothers Wilby Hodson (Diane), Timmy Hodson, and Lester Hodson; her caregiver Robie Leake (Craig) along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Lisa will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Meadow Mills Church of the Brethren, Middletown, VA with Pastor Fred Mauck officiating.  A fellowship reception will immediately follow the service.
