Meredith Alden Wiseman

March 9, 1939 - September 28, 2024

Meredith ā€œAldenā€ Wiseman, 85, husband of Virginia Lucille (Padgett) Wiseman, of Staunton, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Wiseman was born in Staunton, Virginia on March 9, 1939, a son of the late Jerry Wilson and Frosty Christine (Caricofe) Wiseman.
Alden was a dedicated member of Barren Ridge Church and proudly served in the United States Army as an E5 Sergeant. He retired as a supervisor from EI Dupont and later worked as a truck driver for 13 years. For 30 years, Alden managed ā€œThe Country Connectionā€ band playing the bass guitar with his wife Lucille, singing solos and harmony as they traveled together. He will be sorely missed by his many family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Maynard Wiseman.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 64 years, are two daughters, Karen Jamison and Wendy Baber and her husband, Mark; three grandchildren, Jason Lambert, and Megan and Lindsey Baber; a brother, Linwood Wiseman and his wife, Mary Ellen; a sister-in-law, Janet Wiseman; an uncle, Willie Wiseman; a special friend and musician, Shirley Kelley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Barren Ridge Church by Pastor Henry Elsea.Ā 
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Lynn Sullivan, John Campbell, Larry Wade, Gary Wingfield, Donnie Lawhorne and John Sandridge.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
