Matthew D. Ostrander

WAYNESBORO – Matthew Daniel Ostrander, 52, passed away Sunday (November 9, 2025) in the University of Virginia Hospital.

Matt was born in Escondido, California on August 20, 1973 and was the son of Naomi (Quinn) Ostrander and the late Charles Daniel Ostrander. He was raised in San Diego and moved to Virginia in 2007. Matt was a skilled carpenter and auto mechanic – traits that came together to make him a great handyman who was both versatile and meticulous. He was also a gifted artist, an outdoorsman, and a great cook.

In addition to his mother of Waynesboro, Matt is survived by a brother, Jeff Koenig and wife Teri of Verona; two sisters, Katie Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Carrie Ostrander of Escondido, California.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, November 14 in Waynesboro Mennonite Church.
